Dora’s Worldwide Adventure

The Partner

Nickelodeon is a global kids TV network, owners of leading preschool brands such as Dora the Explorer. Colto partnered with Nickelodeon International to create a geography learning game for their preschool market.

Our Approach

Our research began with watching TV episodes with kids to get to know Dora. In the show Dora and her companions embark on quests and visit new places and Dora asks the viewer for help along the way to get through obstacles and solve puzzles.

Our Designer proposed a game concept where the child not only explores countries around the world with Dora but the game mechanic also encourages exploration as the user has to find hidden objects and  landmarks in each country.

The Product

The game is a natural extension to the experience in the TV show where preschoolers learn about world geography and different cultures with Dora and her companions. The player turns the world globe to select a country to visit and helps Dora find the monuments, animals and objects typical of that country hidden within.
